Cutera® Varilite Laser – Skin Condition Treatment
A world-class laser device that is quick and effective
The VariLite Laser is the Ultimate Skin Lesion Solution offered by VenaCare® & Skin Care ClinicThe VariLite laser system can be used to quickly and effectively treat a broad range of skin conditions from birthmarks and discolouration to vascular lesions and acne – conditions that until now have proved costly and difficult to treat with conventional creams and prescriptions. Varilite is a dual laser system for the removal of vascular and pigmented lesions. The laser generates light directly onto the treatment site. The light is absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (bright red blood cells that carry oxygen) and melanin (black or brown skin pigment). Heat from the light breaks down unwanted cells, while leaving healthy cells intact. Facial Rejuvenation The VariLite is ideal for full-face treatments to eliminate blemishes producing a more even skin texture and tone. By attaching the ScanLite scanner hand-piece, this photo-facial technique improves the brightness of your skin while removing uneven pigmentation. VariLite is an ideal solution for Rosacea, Acne and many common skin conditions that cause ruddy and uneven complexions.
Q: I have darker skin. Should I be concerned about the effects of the laser? Yes, it can be a factor, for temporary sun tanned skin and for people of darker complexions. Careful consideration will be paid to this at your personal consultation and you will be advised of what can or cannot be done for you. Q: How long should I take for recovery? You may see some redness or swelling in the treatment area, but the redness will go away within a few hours, and any swelling will be localized and should subside within 2 days. Normal activities are not interrupted at any point around the procedure. Q: How do I take care of my skin after being treated by VariLite? Depending on the area being treated, you may be expected to use an anti-bacterial ointment. It is typical that patients are asked to avoid sun exposure and to use a high SPF sunscreen. Q: Is the procedure painful? Some patients report discomfort in the form of a slight stinging sensation or localised heat. Most patients do not find it unbearable, but some prefer to use an anaesthetic gel which we can provide. We also apply ice to cool the areas which is very effective to counteract this discomfort. Q: How long will it take to see results? Results vary depending on the areas and types of conditions being treated, as well as a person’s age and healing abilities. In the case of vascular lesions such as veins on the face and Rosacea, it can be almost immediate. For other conditions such as sun damage, skin tags, warts and photo facials, it is more typical to have to wait two to six weeks to see more desirable results. Q: Who will be performing my procedure? VenaCare is proud to be staffed by trained medical professionals. The VenaCare team consists only of doctors and nurses who are highly skilled and have been specifically trained to provide each of the services offered at VenaCare. Q: How many treatments will I need? Two to three treatments are often necessary in order to work at a safe pace and optimal level. “Too much too fast” is not a recommended approach when using powerful lasers. Some conditions are chronic or inherited and although greatly improved with lasering, they are not cured. Future sessions will likely be needed to maintain your desired results. You will have a typical scenario for your specific condition explained to you at your personal consultation. Q: Has it been clinically tested? The VariLite laser has been approved by the FDA for a variety of uses, including treatment of vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and cutaneous (skin) lesions.
Initial skin consult is $50. The nurse will review your areas of concern and outline your treatment plan. You will be provided with a full cost of treatment for your consideration.
